The thingy was on the outside of his eye like in the fur towards the outside of his eye (not on his eyeball or tear duct). 

And no, I do not plan to stab him again. :P  It didn't go away completely, but it looks like a little mole now.  He's phat like Cindy Crawford!

Pretty Hurts

I am the worst mother ever!  Just so you know.  THIS story is one reason it's probably good that I don't have kids.

Chance had this thing on his eye.  It looks like an eye booger (hee).  And so I gave him a bath tonight (oh the trauma!) and I thought that it would wash off eventually.  It didn't, and I thought that was because I didn't get much water on his face.

So, after his bath, I dried him off and decided to get rid of the eye thingy.  I kind of scratched at it and realized I could just snip it off (you see where this is going right?)  So, I get him to lay down and I do a quick snip with the scissors and he JUMPS UP.  And I look at his eye and he's BLEEDING!  BLEEDING! (!)  Poor poor thing.  Well, much napkin dabbing and cookie feeding occured and I think we're both doing okay now.  but omg BLEEDING!

Please don't call Dog Protective Services on me!  Poor poor boy.

BUT he IS clean! (and fed!)

So, today I went shopping.  One thing I bought, I thought would be good motivation to keep jogging/walking.  And it worked, Chance and I walked/jogged (half and half) about 1.5 miles today.  Aren't they cute?

I also went to Crossroads - I told you about that right?  The place where you can take your old clothes and trade them in or get cash for them...and then they sell used stuff so you can get lots of cute one of a kind stuff and designer stuff for CHEAP!

Anyway, I tried on stuff and a lot of it FIT (which is always happy)  I ended up getting a really pretty blouse, a black dress, a Nine West brown tulip-like skirt, and a lavender wrap around sweater (Gap) for $45!  Go me!

Saturday's best thing...

happened when I was at Walmart.  (I know!  Who'd have thought?)  But, of course, it's mean.  Some little kid (maybe 6 years old?) was riding his new bike out of the store...and totally slammed into the cash register checkstand wall thingy.  He bounced off and kept right on going. LOL

The cutest thing I saw today was a woman on a beach cruiser that had a double basket.  In each side of the basket was a fuzzy dog just sitting there behaving so nicely.  Awwww!

Doing now: Going to eat dinner.  starved.  Have only eaten half my points today because I've been busy shopping ALL DAY.  I'll post pics later of my finds! :)

Thank God This Week is Over

Was this the longest short week for everyone or just me?  ACK!  I thought today would never end!  I've only worked at my office since the end of November (the week of Thanksgiving) and yet, I felt compelled to CLEAN every space in my office.  I sprayed and I swiped and I reorganized.  It was FABULOUS.  And yet, there were still 4.5 hours to kill.  GRRRR.

The best thing that happened today was that I bought a monthly parking space.  AND it's less than half of what I would pay if I keep parking daily.  So(!) Here's to not worrying about having $9 in exact bills for the machine EVERY SINGLE MORNING.

Going To Bed Early

I may actually get to bed early tonight!!!  I know, I keep saying that, but I'm not going to get on iTunes, so I should be in bed and asleep by 10:30.  Yeah!!

I can't wait for tomorrow to be over.  I'm tired of sitting at work bored out of my gourd.  I want things to liven up a bit.  Though, I did take some time to walk down to longs (about 3-4 blocks) and buy a multivitamin (children's winnie the pooh gummies!)  They are so yummie, I can't wait to eat more tomorrow. LOL  How sad is it that I could avoid trying any and all drugs for 29 years only to succomb to the temptations of gummie vitamins shaped like Tigger? 

One good thing about today:  I stayed within my points and I walked on one break and my lunch.  Skinny here I come!

Happy New Me!

Best Thing That Happened Yesterday:

I made the decision that I’m tired of being overweight and that I’m ready to do something about that.

This was two-fold.  I went to a Weight Watcher’s meeting yesterday and joined. I’m a fledgling points-counter, and proud of it.  I also weigh more than I thought I did, and I’m excited to be working towards fixing that.  I can already picture all the cute skinny clothes.  I know that’s a ways off – but it’s definitely something to look forward to.  I was surprised that the meeting kind of brought out a competitive piece of me.  I’ve never been sporty or athletic or participated in anything competitive.  But last night I was thinking, I can do this!  I’ll blow them away!  I was results that are “not typical.”

I also made a deal with the devil Nicole.  She is joining a gym soon and we will be motivating each other to actually go to these places where we are paying money. (I know!)  We have agreed to 3 days a week, and if we miss that target, then we have to send the other one an itunes gift card. Fun!  It’s better than sending Starbucks.  Haha.

So, now I’m excited to get started.  I’m looking forward to stars on my bookmark for every 5 pounds I lose (because you know I’m going to!) And I’m looking forward to losing that first 10%.  And every pound after that.  Happy New Me!

1) DRINKING BUDDY OF THE YEAR
Hmm…there wasn’t much drinking going on in 2006.  I’d have to venture out with Mark’s Aunt Sue.  She makes a mean Jack Daniels cocktail.

Bree Bop.  There was a lull in there of many years, but we met in 3^rd grade.  Other than that, I’ve known Dawn since 1994 and Mindy since 1996.

Making it through 1 year of living together without bloodshed.

4) LOW POINT OF THE YEAR?
Watching mom go through radiation and then chemo.  But things are looking up (you saw her cute hair!)

Thanksgiving.  I didn’t have to travel to 72000 places.  I did have to ride 79000 miles though, but at least it was relaxing.  And I got to add another state to my list of places I’ve visited.

The 4^th, 5^th, 6^th, and 7^th glass of wine.  ::ouch::

Birthday Palooza 2006.  We had the best time…until the night was winding down.

The worst was also the best.  Edited to add: facial wound, hangovers, a trip to the doctor on a Sunday, and a stupid comment that still bugs me.

I'm a Little Off

The true meaning of this exercise is a little off today.

The best thing that happened today is that I finally finished wrapping/packaging/making, etc. all my Christmas crap and now I can get all this shit out of the house and into the garage.  :)

Happy thoughts people.

Oh wait, and the second best thing was that I really did make it to bed before midnight...it's only 11:37.  Kill me.

Poor Helen

Last night at Mark’s grandparents house, I was talking to his uncle’s wife’s mother.  (so his uncle’s mother-in-law). She’s really old.  She leaned over to me and asked, “do you know Helen?”  I said I didn’t…Mark told me that I hadn’t met Aunt Helen yet.

So the old woman goes on to say, “yeah, we buried her two weeks ago” (and Mark looks confused…and I can sense that he’s getting upset – like, Helen died and no one said anything?)  She goes on to say, “Helen was married to my brother Eddie”  ::sigh of relief from Mark::  Yeah, so dead Helen is not the Helen that Mark is actually related to, thankfully.

Sheesh!

She also asked me if I had the little baby.  Apparently what she wanted was to give me this ugly doll she bought.  She bought a doll named William that was like a collector’s item newborn doll.  She thought it was cute.  Then it came in the mail and it’s UGLY.  Not even cute at all…and she was trying to find someone she could give it to so she didn’t have to look at it anymore.

Now, as much as I don’t want to be old…if I have to be old, I hope I’m slightly mean and totally off-beat.

Let's Try Something New!

I’m going to start something new.  I’m hoping that knowing that I only have to write a sentence or two will actually motivate me 1) to log in and 2) to type more than a sentence or two.  This was so much easier when I blogged from work.  I have a problem doing anything that involves not sitting on the couch or cleaning when I’m home.

However, now with the new obsession with iTunes, I will probably be on the computer more – but being online at the same time may slow down my download time, and then, well, there will be troubles! 

Speaking of iTunes.  I downloaded a few songs from the Amanda Bynes movie “What a Girl Wants” Soundtrack.  If you get a chance, go check out Oliver James’ music.  LOVE!!  He was the (adorable) Ian – Daphne’s love interest – in the movie. 

So anyway, the new thing I plan to do.  I am accentuating the positive. (ha!)  Every day I will post “The Best Thing That Happened Today”  Obviously, I’ll be posting in the evening. Because if I post in the morning I will say, “I didn’t sleep through the alarm” or something equally lame.  Or perhaps even, “There is nothing ‘best’ about today!” and we don’t need all that negativity.  At least, I know I don’t.

So after all the whining and complaining about driving and driving and oh yeah, did I mention(?) driving….I will say this about yesterday.

The best thing that happened was when Mark’s grandma said to her nephew….”you can sit by Aimee. I’m hoping she’s going to be my granddaughter soon” (or something along those lines.)

I haven’t spent much time with that side of Mark’s family, so it was really nice to hear her say that.

And with that – let’s all promise Mark that there will be no more talk of engagement for awhile.  Poor guy.  What with being congratulated at my family function (for what?) and bugged by my dad and any other family member that felt like commenting….it’s time to give him (and myself) a break.
